A book club for those just learning to read! This week, we will read 'Biscuit in the Garden' by Alyssa Satin Capucilli.
Each week from April to mid-May, we will meet to read and discuss a book from the I Can Read! series. I Can Read! books are specifically crafted for children learning to read. Register to pick up a book in advance for your child to practice before book club, or read it for the first time at the program. The books are theirs to keep! If your child is hesitant to join in reading aloud, they are welcome to pass and just listen to others read. After we read, we will complete an activity while we discuss the book.

Biscuit is excited to explore the garden. From the prettiest flowers to the smallest bugs, there is so much to see. And the little puppy even finds his own special way to add to the garden's bounty!
Biscuit in the Garden, a My First I Can Read book, is carefully crafted using basic language, word repetition, sight words and sweet illustrations, which means it is perfect for shared reading with emergent readers. Books at this level feature basic language, word repetition and whimsical illustrations, ideal for sharing with emergent readers. The active, engaging stories have appealing plots and lovable characters that encourage children to continue their reading journey.
This project was made possible in part by the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Kentucky Department for Libraries and Archives.
