Inspired by previous years' Shaking Up Shakespeare and Autumn with Austen series, Fall into Literature is an annual short program series taking place at the Cold Spring branch, where we will "shake up" the ways in which you view pieces of classic literature. This year, join us as we delve into the origin of the hero's journey with The Odyssey! Homer's stories laid the groundwork for countless tales throughout history, and elements can be seen in all types of media.
This month, join us as we watch the Coen Brothers' 2000 film, O Brother, Where Art Thou? and discuss similarities between the film and the source text!
Where can I read Homer's works?
You can find Homer's works, The Iliad and The Odyssey, in our collection, both in physical and digital formats! Search by specific title or by author in the library's catalog to place items on hold.
Some of Homer's works are always available in our digital collection! Visit Kentucky Libraries Unbound and log in with your library card number, or search for his titles in the Libby by Overdrive app! If you have never used Libby or Kentucky Libraries Unbound and are unsure how to get started, visit any of our branches to speak with an Information Services staff member for assistance.
