STEAM Month 2025

The library is celebrating all-things STEAM, or Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math, in March.
Families can look forward to everything from learning about beekeeping to making animated flipbooks to creating moving Minecraft Creepers to playing with Oobleck and more.
Family STEAM Night
One highlight is Family STEAM Night on Saturday, March 8 from 6 to 8 pm at the Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch. Hear from STEAM-related presenters, who will lead you through family-friendly activities! Attending presenters include the Kentucky Engineering Exposure Network, the Taft Museum of Art, the Foundation for Ohio River Education (F.O.R.E.), Boone County Arboretum on Wheels and Cool Critters Outreach.
You can also cast your vote in the Creator Competition! In February, the library hosts programs in which all ages could make a 6-by-6-by-6-inch creation using duct tape and LEGOs.
Creator Competition program dates are as follows:
- For families: 4 pm Monday, Feb. 24
- For teens: 4:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 27
- For adults: 6:30 pm Thursday, Feb. 27
If you can’t make it to one of the programs, you can make your own creations at home and turn it in to the Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch. Entries must be turned in by 5 pm on Thursday, March 6. Submissions will be displayed at Family STEAM Night, where you can vote for your favorite. Winners will receive a gift card!
