Day of the Book/El Día de los Libros

El día de los libros is a nationally recognized initiative that emphasizes the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds. This year we will celebrate Día with free bilingual books, storytelling, crafts, games, and performances.

Schedule of Events

10 am – 2 pm: The Book Bus featuring bilingual books, International crafts and games

10 am-11 am: The Cultural Center of India presents Spice Tales: Easy Recipes from India

Noon – 12:30 pm: Spanish Bilingual Story Time with Mexican candy and sweets provided.

1-1:45 pm: Bi-Okoto West African Movement and Music Workshop

Craft and game tables will be set up in the public area of the library from 10 am-2 pm. The Book Bus will be parked out front with bilingual titles from 10 am – 2 pm. The cooking demonstration, story time, and performance will take place in the meeting room at their listed times.
