Join us for Manga to Anime Club! This month, we are reading 'Rurouni Kenshin, Vol. 1' by Nobuhiro Watsuki.
Each month, we read the first volume of a manga series, watch the first episode of the anime and then have a discussion about both. Light snacks will be provided.
In March, we will discuss Rurouni Kenshin, Vol 1 by Nobuhiro Watsuki.
Himura Kenshin, a former assassin from the Bakumatsu era, wanders Japan as a rurouni (wandering swordsman) during the peaceful Meiji Restoration. He vowed to no longer kill and, instead, now protects the innocent as a way to atone for his past. Upon arriving in Tokyo, he meets the swordswoman Kamiya Kaoru, who runs a dojo and is harassed by the criminal Hitokiri Battōsai. After Kenshin defeats the fake Battōsai, Kaoru offers him a place to stay, and they begin to form a bond.
