This month’s book is The Undefeated by Kwame Alexander and Kadir Nelson.
The Undefeated remembers unforgettable, unafraid and unbowed, famous and overlooked figures from black history: Jesse Owens, whose Olympic victories helped shatter the myth of white supremacy in the 1930s; Michael Jordan, the first billionaire in NBA history; Addie Mae Collins, Cynthia Wesley, Carole Robertson and Carole Denise McNair, who were killed in a racially motivated bombing in 1963; and the hundreds of thousands of black soldiers that fought in the American Civil War.

If you have questions about this program, including accommodations, please contact Addie at alprograms@cc-pl.org. Please see all our program offerings in out online newsletter at cc-pl.org/connections.
