Receive technology training with one of our staff trainers at the library or from the comfort of your own home.
You can receive technology training at home through Zoho Assist, a secure remote desktop software. Home internet access and a phone is required for an at-home training session. For more information about Zoho Assist and at-home training, see the FAQ section below.
If you do not have a computer or mobile device, training sessions can be conducted at the library using library equipment.
The library’s technology training is focused on specific needs related to working on a device or learning a specific aspect of a software or app. For more in-depth training, please refer to the collection of self-paced courses available with your library card on Universal Class.
Groups Requesting an Outreach Class
Technology training can also be scheduled for your group or organization by submitting the form below. Please fill in the contact information for the main contact for your group and select “Outreach” as the location. In the “Describe the type of help you are requesting” box, please let us know the size of your group and where your meeting will be held. Please indicate in the the last box of the form if your group will be using their own devices or if the library should provide devices to use during the training.
There are three possible ways for you to connect with staff using Zoho Assist. You may be emailed an invitation or link to join the session, you can go to join.zoho.com and enter a 9-digit Session ID shared with you by a staff trainer, or a staff trainer may text the link to join to your mobile device. Be advised that standard text message rates may apply from your carrier and plan.
Desktop computers, laptops, phones and tablets may be used.
Some system requirements may be discussed with your staff trainer for older devices. Know that there may be some limitations on mobile devices like smartphones and tablets.
To schedule a remote tech training appointment, you need an internet connection and access to a phone or email address.
Smartphone and tablet users may be directed to download the Zoho Assist- Customer App for their device. Check your app store if you would like to download this ahead of time.
This is a secure service. Giving the library access to your device is a one-time event controlled by you. We cannot re-enter your device once the training session has ended.
The library has a collection of technology devices that can be used for educational purposes. Tutors, teachers and other educators may use the devices in the library with the assistance of one of our librarians. You may use these devices with your students to learn or try out a new technology to see if you want to use it in your own classroom.
