Take Your Child to the Library Day is Saturday, Feb.1—and the Newport Branch is celebrating with fun activities all afternoon.

Where: Newport Branch (901 East Sixth Street)

Along with a scavenger hunt, patrons can decorate a tote bag perfect for carrying their library haul. Families can choose one of two story times (at 11:30 am and 1 pm) to attend.

Take Your Child to the Library Day is celebrated by thousands of libraries across the United States and Canada. Initially founded by Nadine Lipman in 2011 at the Waterford Public Library, the day aims to offer free and fun activities for families. Visit takeyourchildtothelibrary.org to learn more.
