The library hosts an array of craft programs for teens throughout the summer. Below is a selection of crafts you can create in the upcoming months. Check out our website for more programs to attend. Make sure to register in order to secure your spot in the program.

Take & Make: Animal Felt Bags
4 pm Thursday, July 15
Alexandria Branch
During this virtual program, you can create a fun animal bag to carry with you wherever you go this summer.

Shrinky Dink Crafts for Teens
5-7 pm Monday, July 19
Cold Spring Branch
Shrinky Dinks is a fun and unique crafting experience. Bring your creativity to make your own shrink dink art – jewelry, keychains, or anything you can think of!

Magazine Animals
3:30 pm Friday, July 23
Newport Branch
This craft is available both as an in-person program or as a Take & Make kit. Create animal masterpieces by using patterns and designs found in old magazines.

Sharpie Tie Dye for Teens
5-7 pm Monday, July 26
Cold Spring Branch
Are you a fan of traditional tie-dye but don’t like all the mess? If so, this program is the place for you. Using Sharpie markers and rubbing alcohol, we’ll make crazy tie-dye designs on shirts.

Glow Clouds
3 pm Wednesday, July 28
Newport Branch
If you want to bring the outdoors inside this summer, register to make Glow Clouds at the Newport Branch. All attendees will craft a light to take home at the end of the program.

Nature Watercolor

Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch
Calling all nature lovers! We will use watercolor paints to create nature scenes. You don’t have to be a Picasso to enjoy this program – all skill levels are welcome. This program is available in person or via Zoom.

The Art of Origami for Tweens

Anyone ages 8 through 14 is welcome to join us for an afternoon of origami. Participants will learn how to make fun origami creations as well as new paper folding techniques.
