Computers & Internet
Public Access Computers
Each branch provides free access to computers with internet access. You must have a library card and PIN to access our computers. If you do not have a library card, you can get a guest pass with a valid photo ID.
Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If all of the computers are in use, reservations can be made at the Information Services desk or at the Reservation Station. Please speak to a staff member if you have any questions about using the library’s computers and laptops.
Web browsers and Microsoft Office are installed on all adult computers.
- Alexandria: 5 laptops
- Cold Spring: 12 desktop computers and 4 laptops
- Carrico/Fort Thomas: 9 desktop computers and 4 laptops
- Newport: 20 desktop computers, 4 laptops and 4 laptop docking stations
If you have a fine over $10, you must pay $1 toward your fines to use our desktop computers.
Patrons with charges of $25 or more on their accounts will not be allowed to use library laptops. If you owe between $10 and $25, you may pay $1 per use to use a library laptop until your balance is below $10.

Printing
Printing is available from all computers for a fee. Click for more information on printing.
- Black and white: $0.20 per page
- Color: $0.40 per page
Wi-Fi
All branches provide free Wi-Fi in all public areas. Any wireless device with a web browser should be able to use our wireless service. No password is required.
