Prepping for Midterms?
Midterm season is underway! If you’re a student prepping for midterm tests, projects and more, consider utilizing the library’s resources.
Here are a few ways we can help with your next study session.
Book Care Packages
Request a Book Care Package for your next big homework or research topic. With a week’s notice, library staff can pull up to 10 books/audio materials to help. The Book Care Package will be sent to your branch of choice and we’ll notify you once the collection is ready for pickup.
Study Rooms
If you need a quiet place to hit the books, or a space to meet for a group project, consider reserving one of our study or meeting rooms. View availability and locations here.
Each branch has rooms available to reserve. You can also take a seat at one of the branch’s tables in the common areas. We can’t wait to have you for your next study session!
Free Wi-Fi? Check.
Our physical spaces are a fantastic resource. Not only does every branch have study rooms, but we also provide free wi-fi and computer access.
Whether you bring your own smart device or use one of our computers/laptops, our branches are the perfect place to read, research, write papers, work on presentations and more.
You must have a library card and PIN to access our computers. If you do not have a library card, you can get a guest pass from the Information Services Desk. Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If all of the computers are in use, reservations can be made at the Information Services desk or at the Reservation Station.
Printing, Scanning & Faxing Services
Whether you need to print an essay or reading materials, printing, scanning and faxing is easy at the library! You can use your computer, smartphone or tablet from home to send a printing request to pick up at one of our branches. Send an email titled “Print Job” to your branch. View the emails below:
- Alexandria Branch: alinfo@cc-pl.org
- Cold Spring Branch: csinfo@cc-pl.org
- Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch: ftinfo@cc-pl.org
- Newport Branch: nwinfo@cc-pl.org
Once you’re at the branch, go to the Information Services Desk and tell them the email you sent your print job from. After we send it to your printer, then you’ll pay for it.
Printed or photocopied 8.5 x 11 black and white pages are $0.20 and color pages are $0.40. For 11 x 17, the price is $0.30 for black and white pages; color pages are $0.60.
Payment can be given via cash, credit card or check. Scanning and faxing services are free!

Along with our physical collection, the library also provides access to an array of online resources, including Britannica Academic, Explora, Learning Express, Newspaper Source, Universal Class and more. Click here for a full list of resources you can access from school or home with a library card.
