September is Library Card Sign-Up Month

Library Card Sign-Up Month first launched in 1987 as a response to then Secretary of Education William Bennett, who stated, "Every child should obtain a library card and use it." The American Library Association took Bennett's challenge and ran with it.

The First Library Card Sign-Up Month theme was, "The Best Gift You'll Every Give Your Child … A Library Card." The American Library Association's theme for 2026's Library Card Sign-Up Month is "A Library Card Hits All the Right Notes!" Campbell County Public Library strives to provide patrons of all ages with free access to a myriad of resources, services, books and more! 

Library Card Sign-Up Month Prizes

Register for a library card this September and be entered to win a CCPL swag bag! Already have a library card? You can also be entered to win. Bring a friend or family member to register for their new library card and enter the drawing to win. 

Sign up for a library card at any branch for an entry into a giveaway for fun Campbell County Public Library merch. The prize will be picked up by the winner at the branch of their choice. The giveaway is not available for Digital Patron Cards.
