Why did you want to serve on our board?
The library plays a vital role in its community, and I want to help ensure that Campbell County library is top of mind for its community.
What is your favorite library memory?
I remember going to the Chattanooga Public Library downtown on weekends to read and work on school research. I loved to hear the soothing sound of pages turning or (during that era) microfiche machines whirring.
What is something a parent taught you that you still live by today?
Be kind and try and smile at everyone. You never know what kind of day they have had.
If you could spend a week anywhere in the world, where would it be and why?
I would live in Tasmania. I love that the island is so clean and rugged outside of the city, and yet very modern in the city. Also, they have the cutest animals there!
What’s the most unusual thing in your desk drawer?
Unusual? Hmm… probably not that unusual, but I have a lot of greeting cards. I love sending snail mail – birthday, holidays, etc., – and I am always picking up unique cards when I find them and saving the cards for the right moment.
Please share a fun fact that people might be surprised to know about you.
I’ve been teaching aerobics for 25 years, but it slowed down a bit as my career progressed. However, I have been certified for 25 years and still teach 1 or 2 classes each week.
