Jolabokaflod: A Holiday Open House

Have a cozy afternoon complete with books, a hot chocolate bar and more at the library.

Head to the Newport Branch on Saturday, Dec. 7 from 11 am-2 pm for Jolabokaflod: A Holiday Open House. The afternoon will include crafts, a hot chocolate bar, a photo area and live music.

The main event? Jolabokaflod, of course! Jolabokaflod is an Icelandic tradition that dates back to World War II in which books would be gifted with the intention of them being read on Christmas Eve. The library will have books available to pick and take home for all ages!

Whether you pick out a book for yourself or a special someone in your life, we hope you enjoy the library’s take on this cozy, bookish holiday tradition.
