Let’s Talk About It! All The King’s Men with Dr. Jon Cullick
Wednesday, November 6, 2019
6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us at the Cold Spring Branch as Dr. Jon Cullick, coming from the NKU English Department, discusses All The King’s Men by Robert Penn Warren. Widely considered to be one of the best novels of the 20th century, it was inspired by the life and death of Huey Long, the populist governor and senator assassinated in the Louisiana State Capitol in 1935.
All the King’s Men:
All the King’s Men portrays the dramatic and theatrical political rise and governorship of Willie Stark, a cynical, socially liberal socialist in the American South during the 1930s. The novel is narrated by Jack Burden, a political reporter who comes to work as Governor Stark’s right-hand man.
