Cold Spring Stargazers Club: Solar Eclipse Viewing Party

On April 8, 2024 starting at 2:04 PM in Cold Spring, the total solar eclipse will began.  While Cold Spring will only see 97% totality at it’s peak at 3:18 PM, we will still be able to see a huge amount of the day go dark. Join us at the Cold Spring Branch as we watch the last total solar eclipse in our area until 2044! Solar glasses will be offered while supplies last to those in attendance. Our 6′ Orion telescope will have a solar cover so the sun can be safely viewed through it, and a pair of sunoculars will be available.

Join us for a series of activities to prepare for the 3 minute long eclipse, and watch the live stream from NASA on the day of.
