El Día de los Libros

El Día, or Day of the Book, returns to the Cold Spring Branch, to celebrate the importance of literacy for children of all linguistic and cultural backgrounds.

Event Details

Held from 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, April 26, patrons can expect an enriching afternoon of interactive performances, storytelling, crafts and more. View the lineup!

  • 10 am-2 pm: The Book Bus will be stocked with bilingual books, international crafts and more! Stop by at any point in the afternoon to pick out a book to keep.
  • 10-11 am: The Cultural Center of India will present “Spice Tales: Easy Recipes from India.”
  • Noon-12:30 pm: Enjoy a Spanish bilingual story time complete with Mexican candy and sweets.
  • 1-1:45 pm: The Bi-Okoto West African Movement and Music Workshop returns for an interactive show.

Crafts and games will also be set up in the branch’s public area for the duration of the event. The cooking demonstration, story time and performances will be held in the meeting room at their listed times.
