Early Literacy Play Date

Encourage your child’s pre-literacy skills and love of reading!

Have a play date with early literacy. Children receive a free picture book, while supplies last.

What: Early Literacy Play Date

When: 11 am – 2 pm Saturday, May 14

Where: Newport Branch (901 East 6th Street, Newport, KY 41071)

This program helps prepare young ones to be successful readers. Registration is not required.

Families can visit stations with toys and activities to encourage pre-literacy skills, including:

  • 11 am – 1 pm: Meet a mermaid from the Cincinnati Circus.
  • 11 am – 2 pm: Visit activity tables and community vendors with resources for caregivers.  Children can also receive a free picture book from the Book Bus, while supplies
  • 1-2 pm: Enjoy a story time presented by Books, Bibs, and Beyond.

Community vendors include the Campbell County, Cooperative Extension Service; Grandview Elementary Preschool; YMCA; KTL, Physical, Occupational and Speech Therapy; NorthKey Community Care; and Blue Marble Books.
