Drop Your Drawers 2022

The library’s annual campaign Drop Your Drawers returns from Nov. 1 through Dec. 31.

Drop Your Drawers

Goal: 7,000

When: Nov. 1 – Dec. 31

Where: Donations can be dropped off at any branch.

Drop Your Drawers aims to meet a crucial need for public schools in Campbell County: keeping Family Resource Centers’ emergency supplies of socks and underwear stocked. Schools hand out 100 or more pairs monthly to children who need them due to accidents at school or circumstances at home.

All sizes of socks and underwear are accepted. Donations must be new and in their original packaging. Bras and t-shirts are also accepted.

Our community has gone above and beyond for Drop Your Drawers since its launch in 2015, with 2022 marking its seventh year. Having started at CCPL, the campaign has since made its way to other library systems across the country. Last year’s campaign broke records, with our community raising over 15,000 pairs. Truly amazing!

Why does it matter? Due to various circumstances, parents are often unable to provide fresh underwear and socks to their children during school hours, leading to children missing crucial learning time in the classroom. Keeping centers’ supplies stocked also allows them to redirect funding to provide other valuable resources.
