DIY Tutorial: Narwhal Crafts

Learn how to make some narwhal crafts!

Ceramic Narwhal

Supplies Needed:

  • Ceramic pot
  • Two colors of paint
  • Paint brush
  • Two pipe cleaners
  • Hot Glue
  • Marker

Step 1

Paint your pot. It will take multiple coats.


Step 2

Draw your narwhal’s face on the pot.


Step 3

Paint extra details, such as polka dots, on the pot.


Step 4

Create your narwhal’s horn using the pipe cleaners. Begin by twisting the pipe cleaners to create a twisted horn pattern.


Step 5

Double over the twisted pattern to create a thicker horn.


Step 6

Create a bend on the bottom of the horn to give you a place to connect it to the pot.


Step 7

Attach the horn to the pot using hot glue.


Step 8 (Optional)

Create fins on the side of the pot using extra pipe cleaners.


Felt Narwhal

Supplies Needed:

  • Two colors of felt
  • Two colors of floss
  • Sewing needle
  • Stuffing
  • Narwhal pattern

Step 1

Cut out the narwhal pattern.


Step 2

Cut out two narwhals from the felt.


Step 3

Cut out two fins from the felt.


Step 4

Place the fins on the narwhal and sew them on.


Step 5

Sew the narwhal halves together, leaving enough room to add your stuffing.


Step 6

Stuff your narwhal.


Step 7

Close your narwhal up, leaving the horn open.


Step 8

Use your second color of floss to close and fill in the horn.


Step 9

Your narwhal is complete!


Step 10 (Optional)

Give your narwhal an eye with either a button or creating one with floss.


Wooden Narwhal

Supplies Needed:

  • Two colors of paint
  • Wooden narwhal
  • Paint brush
  • Marker or pencil

Step 1

Use your marker or pencil to give the narwhal some details.


Step 2

Paint the body of the narwhal and give it time to dry between layers.


Step 3

Paint the narwhal horns and belly with the other color of paint to make those areas stand out.


Step 4

Use your marker or pencil to go back over any details that are hard to see. Enjoy your narwhal friend!
