Arts & Culture 2025

Every May, local classical groups bring can’t-miss performances to the Fort Thomas Branch. Mark your calendars for a month of music.

This year’s Arts & Culture Series is perfect for jazz and classical fans, or anyone who appreciates a good tune. Get jazzy and unwind with Greater Cincinnati staples on the Northern Kentucky side of the river.

All three programs take place on Fridays at 7 pm. The Carrico/Fort Thomas Branch will be curbside only from 5-7 pm as they prepare for each evening’s Arts & Culture Series event.

Kentucky Symphony Orchestra: Floodwall Jazz Quartet

Ushering in the month is the Kentucky Symphony Orchestra’s Floodwall Jazz Quartet on May 2. KSO returns with a performance of Claude Bolling’s jazz suites. Born in Cannes, France, the late Bolling was a leading figure in the French jazz scene starting in the early 1950s.

He composed suites for classical music’s elite, including Jean Pierre Rampal (flute), Yo-Yo Ma (cello), Pinchas Zukerman (violin), Maurice Andre (trumpet) and George Shearing (guitar). The suites combine jazz stylings with traditional classical forms for a listenable and relaxing experience.
