6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Join with other members of our community to explore together, in small group discussions, a variety of answers to the question “What does it mean to be human?”. As part of these conversations, we will consider how answers to this question might intersect with a scientific understanding of human origins as displayed in the exhibit.
Exploring Human Origins
What does it mean to be human? How do we answer this complex question? Come explore this question while learning about evolution and early humans at this travelling Smithsonian exhibit. Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human? seeks to foster a positive dialogue with people from different cultural perspectives. The goal is to enable a respectful exploration into the science of human origins through panels, interactive kiosks, hands-on displays, videos, and a series of free related programs, including presentations by Smithsonian scientists.
Thank You!
Exploring Human Origins: Promoting a National Conversation on Human Evolution is administered by ALA’s Public Programs Office in collaboration with the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History’s (NMNH) Human Origins Program.
