(Un)common Ground- A Reader’s Theatre Production and Opening Reception for Exploring Human Origins.

Friday, May 30, 2025
7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Help us welcome the Smithsonian to Campbell County with this special production by Falcon Takes Flight, a wing of Falcon Theater. “(Un)common Ground”, is a dramatic reading exploring how we are related with all of life and what makes us unique. It will be the first in a series of programs connected with the exhibit Exploring Human Origins. This production will feature poems from Richard Hague, Pauletta Hansel, Nancy Jentsch, George Ella Lyon, Maurice Manning, Roberta Schultz, and Sherry Cook Stanforth.

Stick around after the production, enjoy some appetizers, and view the exhibit.

Exploring Human Origins

What does it mean to be human? How do we answer this complex question? Come explore this question while learning about evolution and early humans at this travelling Smithsonian exhibit. Exploring Human Origins: What Does It Mean to Be Human? seeks to foster a positive dialogue with people from different cultural perspectives. The goal is to enable a respectful exploration into the science of human origins through panels, interactive kiosks, hands-on displays, videos, and a series of free related programs, including presentations by Smithsonian scientists.

Falcon Takes Flight

Falcon Takes Flight is Falcon Theatre’s outreach wing which performs reader’s theatre-style pieces around the Northern Kentucky and Greater Cincinnati area. Beginning in 2013, Falcon partnered with the Campbell County Public Library, to become part of their inaugural Signature Series.

Out of this relationship, Falcon Takes Flight was born. Since its inception, FTF has toured area venues including schools, museums, churches, community centers, and more throughout Ohio and Kentucky.

in 2019 Falcon Takes Flight read from Maurice Manning’s “The Common Man” as a part of CCPL’s Signature Series.

Thank You!
