Already have a library card? No problem. Check out materials in person at any branch to enter. It’s that easy!

About Library Card Sign-Up Month
Library Card Sign-Up Month first launched in 1987 as a response to then Secretary of Education William Bennett, who stated, “Every child should obtain a library card and use it.” The American Library Association took Bennett’s challenge and ran with it.
The First Library Card Sign-Up Month theme was, “The Best Gift You’ll Every Give Your Child … A Library Card.”
This year’s ALA theme, inspired by Pixar’s animated film Elemental, is: “Get in Your Element—sign up for a library card!” A library card gives patrons—no matter their age—access to a wide range of resources and services, from borrowing books and ebooks to homework help to research databases and more.
