School’s almost in session, and the library is here for all your prepping needs.
Homework Help
The library has several resources to help students of all ages do their best. Along with checking out books, audiobooks, DVDs, CDs and digital materials, your library card also gives you free access to an array of online resources, from scholarly journals to online encyclopedias and more.
Have a big project coming up? Consider requesting a Book Care Package. The library will pull up to 10 books and audiobooks on the requested topic.

Sign Up for a Teacher Card!
The library wants to ease back-to-school stress for educators by providing valuable resources. All you need is current proof of employment or verification of homeschool participation. You do not need to teach or live in Campbell County to sign up for a Teacher Card. With a Teacher Card and some notice, educators can request books, audio and visual materials for projects and lessons throughout the school year.
Library staff will work with you to collect what you need. You can also bring your class to the library for a tour! For younger students, visits include story time and a tour of the collection. Older students are instructed on using the online catalog, web resources and how to find materials in our collection. Library staff can also visit your classroom! Either way, call to schedule the visit. We can’t wait to see your class!
Reserve a Study Room!
Not only do all of our branches offer free access to computers and the Internet, but you can also reserve a study room. View each branch’s availability at www.cc-pl.org/meeting-study-rooms. Study rooms are perfect for educators and students alike, whether you’re studying for your next big test, working on a group project, or just need a quiet place to get assigned reading done.
We Have Computers!
The library’s computers have everything you need to help with homework, projects, and research, including free access to the internet, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. To log on to our computers, all you need is a valid library card. If you do not have a library card, you can get a guest pass with a valid photo ID.
Computers are available on a first-come, first-served basis. If all computers are full, visit the Information Services desk or the Reservation Station to claim a spot. The library offers 58 desktop and laptop computers across all four branches.
Printing is also available from computers for $0.20 per black-and-white page and $0.40 per color page. You’re also welcome to bring your own tablet or laptop in to use the library’s free Wi-Fi!
Technology Training
Need to brush up on tech skills before the new year? Sign up for a free one-on-one technology training session to help develop your digital skills. Staff can help you build on many topics, from Microsoft Word to basic device use, email and more.
For Homeschoolers
Homeschool instructors can also sign up for a Teacher Card. The library is a great place to bring homeschoolers of all ages for educational or fun programs. One example is Cold Spring’s Homeschool Book to Movie Club, which meets on the third Thursday of every month at 11:30 am. Aimed at ages 8-14, club members will read and watch book-to-movie adaptations and then discuss their thoughts.
Exam Proctoring
Gearing up for a big test? The library is here to help! If you have an online or pen-and-paper exam that required a proctor, our staff is available to provide that service for free. Many students have used the library’s proctoring services for midterm and final exams, as well as professional license exams. If you would like to use this service, call your preferred branch.
