Frequently Asked Questions
Where is Kentucky Libraries Unbound?
The e-book and audiobook service is accessed through the website or the Libby app available in the iOS and Android app stores.
Do I have to create a special account?
No. Kentucky Libraries Unbound is designed to use the Campbell County Public Library card you already have.
How do I find items to check out?
It is important to sign in to the service with your library card before browsing. There are many titles available exclusively to Campbell County patrons that will not be visible otherwise. Once you’re signed in through the Libby app or at http://kyunbound.lib.overdrive.com, you will notice that there is a search link, as well as a page of featured items.
Clicking on the search link will allow you to enter keywords related to the title or topic you are interested in. You can also click on any of the featured items directly, or use the subjects and collections menu items to browse specific topics and formats. Availability for each item is displayed above the cover image. Clicking on a cover image will display more detailed information about that item.
How do I check out items?
After choosing a title, the detailed information screen will show you all the available formats, as well as item availability and other information. If the title is available, clicking on “Borrow” will check the item out and make it appear on your “Loans” page, where it can be viewed and downloaded.
How do I download my items?
Downloads work differently depending on your device. Compatible Android and iOS devices have a free app called Libby for downloading and managing materials. Most Kindle titles can be borrowed by completing the checkout process, then going to your Amazon Kindle account to download your material via Wi-Fi. Some older Kindles and e-book readers may require that the materials be downloaded to a desktop or laptop PC, then transferred via a USB cable to the device.
More information about getting started and downloading materials can be found on the OverDrive help website.
Where can I go for more information?
You can always ask a staff member at the Information Services Desk. If you need additional help, set up a free 1-on-1 tech training session.
There are some very good resources available on the Kentucky Libraries Unbound website help section. You can also contact Kentucky Libraries Unbound digital support at ebooks@cc-pl.org.
